The 13th Congress of Colorectal Cancer of the International Colorectal Cancer Club took place from the 27th to the 29th of September 2018 at the University Hospital of Ulm, Germany. The theme of the 13th meeting was "Multidisciplinary approach- Challenge for the future". Under this theme almost 100 participants and speakers from nine countries discussed modern minimal invasive, endoscopically and surgically, as weil as interventionally treatment strategies for various disease stages.

One high light of the meeting was the presentation about the effects of colon and rectal cancer screening in Germany on the incidents by Prof. Brenner form the German Cancer Research Institute (DKFZ) from Heidelberg. Another high light of the present meeting was the combined session with the German Society of Plastic and Reconstruction Surgery which held their 57th annual meeting in parallel about possibilities of reconstruction of the pelvic floor after extended resections of pelvic floor cancers.

Despite the limited attendance of the 13th ICRCC meeting in Ulm the meeting again covered a vast area of present problems and latest results about prevention, diagnosis, staging and treatment of various stages of colon and rectal cancer focusing on the interdisciplinary strategies for advanced local disease of local pelvic, liver, and peritoneal disease.
